Professor Kofi Asare Opoku will
take office formally on Monday July 7, 2008 as Vice President (Institutional
Advancement) of AUCC. He will assist the President to advance the vision
of AUCC and supervise the institutionalization of the Centre for African
Studies as a foundation discipline for AUCC.
Professor Asare Opoku was educated
at the University of Ghana, Legon, University of Bonn in Germany and
Yale University in the USA. He was Deputy Director and Acting Director
of the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana in the early
‘80s and since 1989 has been Visiting Professor in a number of
U.S. Universities including La Fayette College in Pennsylvania and North
Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.
He joins AUCC with a wealth of experience
to advance the progress of this great institution.
