|AUCC Attracts Fulbright Specialist

The African University College of Communications (AUCC) has received a Fulbright Senior Specialist in Journalism on its faculty.  Tim Spence, a professor of journalism with the University of New York system has been posted to AUCC under the J. William Fulbright Program initially for a period of six weeks.

While here, Tim Spence will enable students to get a practical immersion in journalism through regular writing assignments,  ‘breaking news’ events, story development and field trips to media houses.

Mr. Spence, who studied at the College of Wooster, Ohio, and Johns Hopkins University, has taught journalism in various parts of the world including Czeck Republic, Iraq, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Armenia. He has practiced journalism as a reporter, Foreign Desk editor, and national editor in Washington , Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Micronesia Island.

Welcoming Tim Spence to AUCC, President Kojo Yankah remarked: “Tim’s presence is part of our mission to provide cutting- edge professional knowledge at the doorstep of our students”.

Tim Spence is leading the students to revive AUCC’s Student Newspaper.
