Prof. Blankson earned his PhD in Communications from the School of Telecommunications and holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs/Relations from Ohio University, USA. He also has a Master of Arts in Human Geography/International Development from the University of Oslo, Norway and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Ghana.
Achievements
He has authored several publications and is co-editor of the book Negotiating Democracy: Media Transformations in Emerging Democracies published by SUNY Press. He was the recipient of the Ohio University’s School of Telecommunications Outstanding Doctoral Student award. He also received the Top Conference Paper Award in the International and Intercultural Division of National Communication Association.
Before joining AUCC as President, he was the Intirim Pro Vice Chancelor and Vice President, Academic Affairs at African University College of Communications (AUCC).
Prior to that, he had worked in several capacities at AUCC, Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville and Ohio University in the United States Speaking on his appointment, Prof. Blankson said ” I’m delighted to join the AUCC team and I look forward to working with our THE partners, my colleagues to build even more robust academic systems and structures that will ensure that our students get the best value and AUCC remains a top-tier university college in Ghana.”
In his spare time, Prof. enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports, playing and coaching soccer
